Specializing in dental implants, full-arch reconstruction, wisdom teeth surgery, and IV sedation — delivered with the rigor of academic medicine and the warmth of personal care.
Dr. Giovanni Ibrahim's story begins in Alexandria, Egypt, where he was raised in a Christian Coptic family. He taught himself English as a young man with one dream — to come to the United States and build a life through hard work and purpose. After arriving in New York City, he served as an NYPD auxiliary police officer in the years following September 11th while pursuing his education full-time.
He began his dental career at NYU College of Dentistry, earning a degree in Dental Hygiene before enrolling at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. There he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine, graduating summa cum laude in the top one percent of his class. He was inducted into the Delphi Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and recognized with national honors including the Thomas P. Hinman Scholarship, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Dental Scholar award, and recognitions from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Ibrahim then completed his surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital / Yale School of Medicine, training under leading surgeons in implantology, anesthesia, facial trauma, pathology, craniofacial reconstruction, and orthognathic surgery.
Today he is a Partner at Archway Dental Partners and a clinical surgeon at Dental Associates of Connecticut, serving patients across the Danbury, New Milford, and Newtown offices — and at his newest location, the Darien Implant & Oral Surgery Center. He continues as a Faculty Attending at Yale New Haven Hospital and is an active member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Connecticut Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Board certifications, fellowships, and society memberships earned in active surgical practice — recognition by the national and state organizations that govern the specialty of oral & maxillofacial surgery.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is the surgical specialty that bridges dentistry and medicine. After dental school, an OMS completes a four-to-six-year hospital-based residency in surgery, anesthesia, and pathology of the mouth, jaws, and face. Dr. Ibrahim's practice covers nine core areas.
Surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth and complex teeth, exposure of impacted canines for orthodontics, and management of retained roots and ankylosed teeth.
Surgical placement of titanium implants to replace missing teeth — single tooth, multiple teeth, and full-arch reconstruction (All-on-4, All-on-6, All-on-X).
Ridge augmentation, sinus lifts, socket preservation, and block grafts — rebuilding the bony foundation needed before implant placement.
A full spectrum of office-based anesthesia: local, nitrous oxide, oral sedation, moderate IV sedation, and deep sedation — under continuous monitoring.
Surgical repair of facial fractures — mandible, maxilla, zygoma, orbit, nasal complex — along with soft tissue and dentoalveolar trauma. Hospital-based emergency call work.
Biopsy, diagnosis, and surgical management of cysts, benign tumors, and malignancies of the oral cavity, jaws, and salivary glands, with reconstruction as needed.
Surgical correction of skeletal jaw discrepancies — maxillary advancements, mandibular setbacks, genioplasty, bimaxillary procedures — coordinated with orthodontists.
Diagnosis and management ranging from conservative therapy through arthrocentesis, arthroscopy, and open joint surgery for advanced TMJ disease.
Within OMS scope: chin and jaw augmentation, facial implants, and reconstruction following trauma or pathology — restoring both form and function.
Short educational videos walking through the most common procedures Dr. Ibrahim performs — what to expect, how recovery works, and answers to the questions patients ask most.
National awards and society inductions earned across dental school and surgical residency — recognition from peers, faculty, and the academic dental community.
Dr. Ibrahim sees patients at three Dental Associates of Connecticut locations in Danbury, New Milford, and Newtown — plus his newest practice, the Darien Implant & Oral Surgery Center in Fairfield County.
